Third
most improved school in London – it's official!
Feltham Community
College is celebrating a record set of GCSE results
with a 75% improvement in 5A*-C with maths and English
grades in one year.
National secondary
school results released on Wednesday 13th January
show that the large increase in the number of pupils
achieving 5 A* to C with English and maths means Feltham
is the third most improved school in London.
Headteacher Victoria
Eadie said: "This achievement is really outstanding.
We are absolutely delighted with our results, which
are largely due to our fantastic teachers and the
student's hard work."
Professor David
Woods, chief adviser for London schools, was at Feltham
Community College on Wednesday morning, with Victor
Burgess from London Challenge, to recognise its achievement.
Professor Woods
said: "If you look at the statistics from 2003
and 2009 across London there is a hugely significant
improvement, proof of the effectiveness of the partnership
between schools and the London Challenge."
Ms Eadie is now
looking to this year's set of GCSE pupils. She said:
"We hope to repeat our success this year, and
the early entry exams already suggest even greater
improvement. Our key focus on raising attainment for
every student, delivering the most exceptional learning
and teaching has, and continues to, truly reap rewards.
I would like to offer my thanks to all our students,
staff and parents as our success is founded on this
strong partnership.”
