The
Sports Impact Leadership
The
Sports Impact Leadership Academy was launched at Feltham Community
College on 27th January 2009.
Volunteers
aged between 14-18 years old from across Hounslow were invited to
participate in a range of practical activities, led by experienced
sports coaches and PE staff.
The
event launched the Step
into Sport (SiS) volunteering programme which encourages students
to organise and monitor their own learning using a web-based volunteering
log. Through SiS, students aim for Gold, Silver and Bronze levels
(relative to the hours they volunteer) and begin a pathway that
includes coaching courses, leadership development events and priority
volunteering opportunities in London
2012.
For
students moving on to University and work, the SiS volunteering
experience is recognised as a valuable addition to a school leaver’s
CV.
The
event was made possible with the hardwork and accommodation of the
PE Dept at FCC and Hounslow’s School Sports Coordinators.
Step
Into Sport Passport
The
Step Into Sport Volunteer Passport is a dedicated website to allow
volunteers to quickly register all their volunteering hours, check
on their progress and see up and coming events.
The
site also allows Volunteer Coordinators to instantly validate volunteer's
work and keep in touch with local schools, and allows School Mentors
and County Sport Partnerships to cut-out the paperwork, complete
management tools for volunteers and placements.

Into Sport Volunteer Passport.
