I would like
to welcome you to our College website, which
will give you a flavour of the exciting opportunities
we offer and how we celebrate the rich diversity
of our learning community and all our achievements.
We are located on a wonderful green site surrounded
by acres of playing fields. We judge the learning
offered across all of our Departments to be
outstanding. We believe our students deserve
nothing less than the best. Our parents trust
us to deliver a fantastic education.
We are incredibly
proud of the achievement of our students which
puts us in the top 5% of all schools nationally.
Our students again this last academic year smashed
every record both at GCSE and A Level. Despite
a national drop in 5A* to C with English and
Maths we again improved our position from 57%
to 62% which puts us above the national average.
We had a good
with outstanding features OFSTED report in March
2010 and since that time our results have gone
up and up! We are very much securing an outstanding
judgement currently and believe that like our
students we should aim for the top. To be the
best - the best for your child, for all our
students and all our community.
Our students
benefit from highly qualified, hard-working
and simply brilliant staff who recognise the
importance of ensuring that learning is active,
exciting and builds strong relationships. Challenging
lessons are taught across a wide range of academic
and vocational courses and there is a strong
system of support, which helps students to manage
their learning, build confidence and maximise
opportunity. Our good solid old fashioned values
of equality, courage, inspiration, excellence,
friendship and determination sit firmly at the
heart of what we do and what our students learn
to see as important to them. Behaviour for learning
has been recognised as excellent.
Our Sixth
Form students were incredibly successful this
year. Our Sixth Form is a buzzy and exciting
place to be, there is enormous energy for further
success this year. The ‘no excuses’
culture will embed and bring its own rewards.
We are part of the Hounslow 6th Form Consortium
with other Secondary Schools in the area so
we offer a really good range of courses and
opportunities for our students. Congratulations
to our new Head Girl, Chloe Mcann, and our new
Head Boy, Cieran Burke.
We have
strong links with local primary schools and
we find out as much as we can about our new
students from primary school teachers, school
records, parents and the students themselves.
We want to know our students’ strengths
and what they want to achieve at secondary school
so that our staff are well prepared and the
students warmly welcomed. This careful preparatory
work invariably results in a smooth and happy
transition for our new students.
Teachers
track the progress and achievement of individual
students so that all staff are kept aware of
particular needs that may develop. It is very
important to us that our students are secure
and happy and that their school life is a memorable
experience which will form the basis of a rich
and rewarding later life. We have the highest
expectations of our students and continually
look for opportunities to widen their horizons
and encourage their ambition.
Please
do come and have a look at what we do! We love
to see visitors and show people around our school.
