On
Thursday 19th November, 45 Year 9 students
left FCC before dawn to spend the day in
France. A rather choppy crossing from Dover
to Calais was followed by a visit to the
old, walled town of Boulogne where students
used their French to buy gifts for people
at home.
Next
stop was a sweet factory where students
observed the sweet making process, spoke
more French and tasted the sweets they had
seen in production. Our final stop was at
a hypermarket, where students completed
a quiz and finished off their shopping before
heading back to Calais for the return ferry.
A great day was had by all. The trip offered
a chance for a brief look at France and
an opportunity to practice what students
have learnt in the classroom.
